The pre-wedding bridal party is one celebration that’s always anticipated! Here are some trends we’ve been hearing about for throwing a fun, elegant bridal shower.
ENGLISH GARDEN PARTY. Between hit shows like “Downton Abbey”, “Bridgerton”, and “Queen Charlotte,” elegant garden or tea parties are making a return. Luxurious little details like lace tablecloths, chandeliers, monograms, and gilded table décor will set the mood. Add to it by asking guests to wear their fanciest day dresses – perhaps even “fascinators”! If you opt for a tea party theme, go ahead and add a few bottles of champagne to the mix.
BRIGHT COLOR PALETTES. We’re getting away from the lowkey creams and neutrals that have been seen in wedding décor over the last few years. Bridal showers are now reflecting a fresh energy with colors based on those favored by the bride-to-be. If the shower will be held in the summer months, maybe go for vibrant citrus colors. Is she a “retro” fan? Look to palettes inspired by the 70s, 80s, or 90s. There are lots of ways to combine brighter shades in ways that are fun, but not overwhelming.
OUTDOOR PICNIC. Who doesn’t love a picnic? Lay down some tarps in a shady part of the yard or local park, then gather blankets, cushions, pillows, and small rugs. This informal take on a bridal shower is great for breaking the ice among guests who may be meeting for the first time (just be sure to let everyone know the plan so they can dress accordingly). If the weather isn’t cooperative, an indoor picnic can be just as fun. Serve finger foods and mini sandwiches, anything easy to handle.
BIGGER DÉCOR STATEMENTS. Modern bridal showers are taking the décor up a notch or three with over-the-top pieces like balloon arches, flower walls, and lavish centerpieces.
