Much of the CZ sold today is of inferior quality, not made using the original Russian formula. Low quality CZ is cloudy in rough form, and the finished stones look cheap—not like a real diamond—and can be easily damaged.

Birkat Elyon uses only the original classic Russian formula CZ with a 99.99% purity level. Clear even in rough form, this makes all the difference in quality, clarity, durability, and brilliance of the finished stones. Of the five grades of CZ available—A being the lowest and AAAAA the highest—Birkat Elyon uses stones that even surpass the industry standards for AAAAA. Our stones have the maximum number of facets possible, cut at precisely the right angle, to exactly the proper depth for the most brilliance.   

Polishing is the final step to creating the beautiful Birkat Elyon CZ. Mass-produced CZ isn’t polished as thoroughly as hand-cut CZ, where every facet is polished individually. Mass-produced stones often skip polishing the girdle and other lower facets.

Lastly, each finished Birkat Elyon CZ stone is examined under magnification, and imperfect stones are discarded. Only those that are absolutely perfect go on to be set into our gold or platinum jewelry.
