There are some things about weddings that are pretty standard. But there are plenty of things that are ever-changing. If you want to shake things up with your ceremony (even just a little), Birkat Elyon has its finger on the pulse of fun new trends in weddings. For years, we’ve supplied couples with dazzling (affordable) CZ engagement and wedding rings, so here are some tips to make your wedding a standout.
THE LITTLE WHITE DRESS
Back in the 60s, short wedding dresses were all the rage. Now, they’re making a comeback as a hip alternative to the big, poufy bridal gown. Besides being on-trend for your big day, a little white dress has an advantage in that you can wear it again…and again.
WEEKDAY WEDDINGS
Couples who were planning their weddings during the time of COVID often found dates had to be canceled or pushed back (more than once). This has resulted in an ongoing logjam at wedding venues and with suppliers and vendors. The good news is that overcrowded calendars have created some serious money-saving opportunities for couples. If you have a small guest list, throwing your bash on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday can give you access to your preferred venues/vendors at a big discount.
LIVE EVENT PAINTING
This is a fresh idea that will have guests talking. Instead of (or in addition to) a photographer, having an artist sketch you and your new spouse during the ceremony, then complete the painting as the festivities go on, is very engaging (and great for social media!). Another option is to have a sketch artist or caricaturist capturing your guests during the festivities. That can make for some very different “take-home” mementos!
VINTAGE STYLES IN RINGS
Many couples are looking backward to classic ring styles that remain timeless. On that same note, there’s a trend towards more “sustainability” in choosing a ring, one that will leave a lighter footprint for the planet that the couple’s kids (and grandkids) will inherit. Birkat Elyon offers time-honored ring styles featuring gorgeous cubic zirconia, which is not only more affordable, is very “green” and less harmful to the environment than real diamonds.
BOUQUET PRESERVATION
With all the effort that goes into choosing the perfect wedding flowers, it’s a shame to just see them ditched after the wedding. Preserving your bouquet used to be a “thing” in earlier times, and now it’s making a comeback. There are lots of ways to do it, whether it’s just pressing a few of the blooms between special paper or dipping the entire bouquet in epoxy resin or wax to create a permanent keepsake.
