WEDDING MOVIE CHARADES
Split your guests into two teams. Now write the names of wedding-themed movies on slips of paper. Each team has to solve the mystery movie in three minutes or less. A few suggestions: My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Wedding Crashers, The Wedding Singer.
FIND THE GUEST
This is a great icebreaker! Everyone gets a list of characteristics about a guest. This can include things like they’ve been married over ten years, they speak French, they’re wearing red shoes. The attendees must circulate to discover who’s on their particular list.
SCAVENGER HUNT
If you’re holding the shower in the couple’s hometown, send guests out on a hunt for places where they had their first date, shared their first kiss, and the like. This is a good game if your shower is a co-ed affair.
THE COCKTAIL CHALLENGE
Set up a full bar with all liquors, mixing ingredients, and garnishes noted on cards. Have teams compete to see which one creates the best cocktail. Have the bride choose her favorite as the “signature cocktail” for the wedding reception. This will also offer bragging rights to the winning team.
CELEBRITY WIVES
Write the names of famous wives on small cards and have each guest tape one to their forehead (without peeking!). Other guests have to describe the person until she figures it out. Who wouldn’t love being Jackie Kennedy, Princess Kate or Beyonce’ for the afternoon?
