Justin Verlander and Kate Upton
The only thing hotter than Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander’s fastball is his engagement to model/actress Kate Upton. This is another one we’ve covered before in detail on the blog, but in case you missed it, Upton was first spotted wearing her gorgeous engagement ring at the Met Gala this past May.
Alex Greenwald and Brie Larson
Alex Greenwald, formerly of the band Phantom Planet and currently with Phases, got engaged to actress Alex Greenwald – who took home an Oscar, SAG Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and an Independent Spirit Award for her performance in Room – while the two were on a trip to Tokyo in March. The pair has been together since 2013. You can see Larson’s engagement ring pictured above when she appeared on Saturday Night Live.
Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Statham, best known for his role as the action star of the Transporter movies, and Huntington-Whiteley, who recently appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road, have been together for more than five years, but it wasn’t until the two made their way down the red carpet (pictured above) at January’s Golden Globes that they went public with their engagement.
Ruben Torres and Hilary Swank
We’ve previously covered this pair’s engagement on the blog here, but needless to say the actress and former tennis pro happily announced their engagement in March after about a year of dating. “Sooooooo this happened!!! #heputaringonit LOL #loveisintheair,” tweeted Swank at the time. And why wouldn’t she be? Just look at that ring!
Johnny McDaid and Courteney Cox
One Friends icon, Jennifer Aniston, recently got married, and next up is (hopefully) Courteney Cox. Cox and musician Johnny McDaid started dating in 2013, got engaged in 2014, called it quits after 17 months of engagement and then reconciled in December 2015. Got all that? Great. Now all they have to do is actually walk down the aisle together.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus
She came in like a…well, maybe not really quite like a wrecking ball, apparently, because however she came in she made Liam Hemsworth fall in love with and propose to her all the way back in June 2012. Of course, the couple separated in September of 2013, but they got back together again in January, and Cyrus is wearing that ring again. See, told you any talk of wrecking balls wasn’t quite accurate…for now.
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
Funnyman Kevin Hart asked his longtime girlfriend Eniko Parrish the big question on her 30th birthday back in August 2014, and the comedian promptly announced the engagement on Instagram, showing Parrish wearing her new ring. “She said YEEEEESSSSS…… #Happy #MyRib #iF*ckingLoveHer,” wrote Hart at the time.
James Packer and Mariah Carey
When billionaire James Packer proposed to Mariah Carey he didn’t just give her any old ring: he gave her the kind of ring a billionaire gives to a millionaire. We’re talking 35 carats here, people. Yes, 35. You may remember us talking about the engagement in detail back in January when the couple was spotted on the red carpet together, with Carey wearing her enormous new ring.
Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga
Back on Valentine’s Day Taylor Kinney proposed to Lady Gaga with a ring that just felt right for her: a heart-shaped diamond ring. “It was in Manhattan,” Kinney told Chicago Tribune Magazine at the time. “It was snowing, it was beautiful.” It certainly was, and you can read more about it in our full post on their engagement here.
