Just like the bridesmaids, the groomsmen play a key support role before, during, and after the wedding. Since 1985, Birkat Elyon, has offered dazzling cubic zirconia jewelry (including affordable engagement and wedding rings); here’s our list of the essential tasks for groomsmen.
Plan the Bachelor Party: It’s a celebration but it’s also a stress reliever for the groom. Put different members of the groom’s “team” in charge of various aspects of the party.
Support the Groom: Have someone be the designated sounding board to help the groom work through any stress during the wedding planning and on the day itself. Also, the Best Man is usually in charge of helping the groom get ready on the wedding day.
Give A Gift: Groomsmen should give a gift, either from the registry or, pool your resources and give a group gift. May we suggest a stand-out cubic zirconia ring symbolizing your bond as part of the groom’s posse?
Help the Guests: Be available to usher guests to their seats, but also to answer questions like, “Where do I put the gift?” or “Where’s the bathroom?”.
Help with Wedding Photos: Before everyone rushes off to the cocktail hour, help corral the wedding party for photos. This includes politely holding off well-wishers until that task is done.
Keep the Party Going: If you’re asked to, give a speech at the reception. Also, be one of the first to get out on the dance floor to encourage others, even pulling people up if needed!
Keep the Gifts Safe: Groomsmen are in charge of moving the gifts to a secure location and then transporting them to the couple’s home after the ceremony.
Post-Ceremony: The groomsmen, either individually or as a group, are in charge of returning the tuxes (including the groom’s), rallying the guests for the morning-after brunch, and then checking on the couple’s home during the honeymoon.
