Picking the Right Ring for Your Hand

There are so many things to consider when picking out your engagement or wedding ring: the size of the stone, the metal in the band, a single stone or multiples. But the most important thing is picking a ring that will make your particular hand and fingers look their best. Birkat Elyon is in the business of dazzling cubic zirconia rings and offers a variety of stones that are virtually indistinguishable from real diamonds (and much more affordable). Here are our tips for picking the perfect cubic zirconia ring for your hand.

In general, an elongated stone shape, like a marquise or oval cut, makes fingers look elegantly long. If you already have long fingers, show them off with a ring featuring an emerald or pear-shaped stone.

For shorter fingers, avoid elongated shapes which can look overwhelming on the hand. Instead, choose a cubic zirconia ring with a symmetrical shape, such as an Asscher, round, or square cut.

For small hands, choose a smaller stone; a large stone will be too overwhelming. A round, princess, cushion, or Asscher cut will look much more balanced on the hand.

If you have big hands, choose a larger stone, perhaps as a center stone surrounded by other smaller ones. A larger hand can accommodate a cubic zirconia ring featuring multiple stones or a double band.

Thick fingers will look more slender with a stone in an oval or marquise cut. Because these cuts are wider in the center but slightly taper off at the ends, they create the illusion of a longer finger line. A three-ring stone, with the center stone as the largest, is another option for a lengthening effect.

Of course, if you have thin fingers, a solitaire stone will look amazing. Other options include an elongated oval or elongated marquise shape to complement your finger shape.
