Is your big day coming up fast, maybe even faster than you expected? Well, first off, allow us to say congratulations! Second, with all you have left to do, let us help you make sure you don’t overlook one of the most important aspects of your wedding: yourself!
Wedding planning can be hectic, even chaotic at times. With all that’s going on and all that you likely have left to do, it’s easy to overlook something important, especially if it’s something for you personally and not tied to the grander wedding plans. But if there’s ever a time in your life when you shouldn’t put yourself second, this is it. Your wedding day is all about you and your fiancé. And, let’s face it, no one’s going to be holding their breath to see how good the groom looks in his tux – they’ll all be straining to get a look at how gorgeous you are in your gown.
To help make sure you look your absolute best when making your way down the aisle, here are some crucial beauty appointments you should make before getting all dressed in white.
Dentist
They don’t simply say the bride wore a white gown; they say she was “all dressed in white.” That should extend to your pearly whites! Your smile is always your best accessory, and it’s no different on your wedding day. Go in for a cleaning but also a teeth whitening so you can smile with confidence when everyone stands and turns to see you.
Laser Hair Removal
Look, we get it: no one wants to admit they have hair where they don’t want to have hair. How much is too much and where it is that you don’t want to have any at all is going to differ from person to person, but just about all of us would feel better if we lost at least some unwanted body hair. Lasering it off is the most effective, long-term solution, but you’ll need to plan ahead for your wedding. It usually takes four or five treatments to be completely effective, so schedule your first one today.
Hair Salon
Staying on the topic of hair, what style are you thinking? You (probably) don’t want to just get rid of it all like unwanted body hair, but there are obviously umpteen style options for you to choose from. Do you want to get it colored? Highlighted? Cut? Extended? Curled? Straightened? Braided? Go into your stylist once a few months ahead of your wedding for a trial run and see if you like the look. If you do, great, just have the salon do the same thing again for your wedding day. If not, well, now you have time to work with them (or someone else) on an alternative.
Manicurist
Getting your hair just right is important, but what about the rest of you? Everyone’s going to be asking to see your ring, and you want your nails to look the absolute best they can when they’re essentially on display, right? Well, then schedule a manicure for the day before your wedding to ensure they’re fresh, shiny and undamaged when the time comes to show them off.
Dermatologist
Most of us weren’t born with perfect skin. We know it’s not fair, but such is life. If you’re concerned about your skin looking its best on your best day, visit your dermatologist, especially if you’re worried about adult acne or that one pesky mole that’s been bothering you forever.
Facialist
This one’s a pre-wedding tradition for brides and a fun last-minute treat that, if nothing else, will help you relax a little from the stresses of planning and making sure everything goes just right. Scheduling an appointment for the week of your wedding is fine if all you want is a soothing treatment. If you’re thinking about something more intense like microdermabrasion, however, plan it for a few weeks beforehand since your face will likely be reddish for a few days afterwards.
Tanning Salon
OK, just hear us out on this one. We’re not advocating that you crawl into a tanning bed. In fact, we strongly recommend you don’t do that – it’s carcinogenic. But, if you’re light-skinned, you don’t want to look as white (or whiter) than your gown, so you do want to have some kind of tan. Make an appointment for a salon-quality spray-tanning with an aesthetician instead for all the color with none of the cancer risk.
Cubic Zirconia Jewelry
There’s one other beauty “appointment” not to forget, and it comes before all of the other ones we mentioned, but it should be your fiancé who makes this one. He/she should take a look at how to beautify you with high-quality cubic zirconia jewelry, particularly a cubic zirconia engagement ring.
