Not everyone gets to marry one of the funniest and most successful comedians alive and do so in a beautiful dream wedding – but Eniko Parrish did. Parrish got married to funnyman Kevin Hart in an August 13 ceremony at a private estate near the absolutely gorgeous Santa Barbara, California. Family and friends were naturally in attendance, but since this was a celebrity wedding, some other celebrities made it out for Parrish and Hart’s big day, too.
So, what was the wedding like? Who was there? What did she wear? Read on for all the juicy details!
The Happy Couple
Hart, 37, and Parrish, 31, have long been an item and were engaged back in August 2014. For Hart, this was his second time tying the knot following his 2011 divorce from his first wife, Torrei, with whom he has a daughter named Heaven (11) and a song named Hendrix (8).
Of Parrish, Hart told Us Weekly ahead of the big day, “I honestly can say that I’m lucky enough to have an amazing woman. I’m looking forward to getting married. We got seven years under our belt, been engaged for two. It’s time.”
Hart apparently doesn’t even think getting married will be a big change in their relationship. “I already feel married, the wedding is really just for her,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
The Family
Both Heaven and Hendrix were in the wedding, with Hendrix apparently getting the role of a very young best man (best boy?) during the ceremony. “U can’t teach COOL,” Hart wrote in an Instagram shot of him and his son in their sharp tuxes. “U either have it or u don’t… My son AKA my best man has it!!!!! Last night was MAGICAL. #Harts #MeAndMyBestFriend thank u I have you @davidson_frere and @Musikafrere …..The Tuxedos were amazing.”
Hart says his family is extremely important to him, and that he never wants to lose track of that no matter how much success he has in his career. For Hart, it’s important to keep things a bit low key and keep his family close.
“I don’t want to be in a mansion where I have to find my kids on the east wing,” he told EW. “I want to sit on the couch and be able to yell into the kitchen, ‘Hey come on, let’s go outside and ride a bike!’ I like two dogs, I like a fence. I don’t need no dolphins. I don’t need a shark in my shark tank.”
The Bride Wore White…and Then She Wore White Again
At the ceremony, Parrish really stole the spotlight as she officially joined the family. Well, maybe “stole” isn’t the right word, as you expect the spotlight to be on the bride during her wedding. And this one was, as you’d expect, “all dressed in white.” But she didn’t wear just one beautiful white wedding gown – she wore two! Both of Eniko’s gowns were designed by Vera Wang, and both had French Chantilly lace, but they were both in completely different styles.
First up was a mermaid gown with see-through lace complete with spaghetti straps, a plunging neckline and a low-cut, open back. The French tulle skirt, meanwhile, flared out at the bottom to make a large train, but it was fitted at the hips to show off her striking figure. Parrish accented the gown with a cathedral-length veil and a gorgeous pair of Sophia Webster shoes.
Parrish shared several images from her incredible bridal shoot on Instagram the day after the wedding, captioning them “Love conquers ALL! #HARTS💜.”
And then she followed that up with pictures of her other wedding gown. For her second look, Parrish wore another Vera Wang dress with sheer elements. This one was a long-sleeved fit-and-flare silhouette gown with a backless detail. The lace on this gown was hand-placed French Chantilly appliqué.
She then captioned these pictures “Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this… ✨ #MrsHart💜 #VeraWangGang.”
The Wedding Bands
The couple’s wedding bands were, in a word, eye-poppers. Both his and hers are full of more bling than most of us can imagine wearing in an entire lifetime, let alone all it once in one ring. Even Hart’s band is stunningly sparkly for a man’s jewelry piece. You can see the bands above in an Instragram photo Hart captioned “#DopePic.”
The Proposal
Hart chose Parrish’s 30th birthday as the date to take a knee and ask for her hand. “On this perfect day I chose to make the most perfect decision,” he said in a video posted to Instagram on the day of their engagement.
Since they’re now married, you already have a pretty good idea of what Parrish said, but let’s get the exact quote. “I said YES!!!!! To the most amazing man in the world,” she exclaimed on – you guessed it – Instagram.
