Five Hot 2015 Wedding Trends

Cubic Zirconia Engagement Rings & Wedding Trends

What’s coming next to the world of weddings? Well, it could be just about anything. Some “experts” will tell you what’s right and wrong for your wedding, what you can or can’t do. But they’re missing one important thing – it’s your wedding. You can do whatever makes you happy!

So go ahead and have a crazy theme, make your bridesmaids wear polka dots, get married on Super Bowl Sunday. Whatever makes you happy! That being said, if you want your bridal party and guests to have as good of a time as you do, it’s maybe not the worst idea to not go too nutty with some of your ideas. Make your wedding truly your own, but try not to make everyone else miserable in the process.

Following are five new trends for 2015 that The Knot has identified as “hot.” They’re not all going to be right for your wedding, but one or two of them might be able to give your big day just enough personality and uniqueness. If nothing else, give them a read to see if they help kickstart your brain and get you thinking of some fun, original ideas that lead to you starting your own trends.

Royal Color Palettes

Almost everyone wants their wedding to resemble a royal family’s, right? Most of us don’t have the means to make things quite that opulent, but at least you can have the right colors. Marsala is Pantone’s “Color of the Year,” and it’s been setting the tone for 2015 weddings. The rich wine red hue has a cultured, classy and versatile feel to it. Pairing it with a dusty blue will give your wedding a romantic feeling, whereas a rose gold will help you to pull off a more glamourous look.

Wild West Weddings

In 2015 some weddings are exploring the last frontier. Not the final one (space), but the last one that came before it – the Old West. Some brides are embracing ranching themes with plenty of leather accents that give way to relaxed receptions with rustic motifs full of plenty of cowhide, wildflowers, antlers and distressed lounges. Craft beers and mixed bourbon drinks in copper mugs paired with little flourishes like leather napkin bands are a good way to accentuate this theme. For your attire, think about going with a long-sleeved dress featuring understated lace accents and an ethereal illusion neckline.

Drone Wedding Photos and GoPro Videos

Please be careful if you’re going to try this one, as we don’t want to hear about any drone wedding crashes…well, at least not any more drone wedding crashes. That being said, if you want something that screams “zeitgeist,” you can’t get much more contemporary than drone footage. Drones can capture incredible aerial footage and angles that would otherwise be near impossible. Again, please take care not to cause any accidents if you go this route. In fact, think about opting for a GoPro camera on a selfie stick instead if you or your photographer isn’t a competent drone pilot.

Bridesmaid Apps

Want to keep the modern 21st century digital theme going? Apps like TaskRabbit and TouristEye can help you and your bridesmaids plan out your wedding and your honeymoon, respectively. The Knot also slips in a plug for itself here, mentioning that The Knot Wedding Planner app will put you in touch with all of the professionals you need to make your dream wedding a reality.

Peace, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll

Want a laid-back wedding that rocks as much as you do? Some brides are drawing inspiration from bohemian/chic music festivals like Coachella. Bright, festive colors that still manage to be earthy (The Knot recommends sunny yellow and teal with terra-cotta) in a backyard or open field is the best way to pull this theme off. Mismatched bridesmaid dresses, hand-drawn maps packed into your invitations, fun wording on the invites like “You in?” instead of “Accept” and a dress featuring gauzy bell-sleeves will carry the idea home.

Cubic Zirconia Engagement Rings

One thing that never goes in or out of style is having the perfect engagement ring. But diamond engagement rings can be expensive – really expensive. Thankfully, you have alternatives, like Birkat Elyon’s Russian Formula cubic zirconia engagement rings. Not all cubic zirconia (cz) is equal, and Russian Formula cz is the one and only kind that’s able to catch the light as beautifully as real diamonds do. It’s so impressive, in fact, that even veteran gemologists can have trouble telling the difference with the naked eye.

Our cubic zirconia engagement rings will dazzle you and anyone you show them off to. Our rings are precision-cut and hand-polished to perfection, so finding the right ring is as easy as it is affordable.
