Formulation
The original cubic zirconia formula was developed in Russia in the 1970’s. Formulated to create a stone with all of the same characteristics of diamonds, for use in laser technology, these original cubic zirconia had a purity level of 99.9%. Modern mass-produced CZ formulas yield lower quality, inexpensive cubic zirconia. At Birkat Elyon however, we still use the same Russian formula to produce the best CZ in the world.
Refining
Once we’ve formulated our CZ, we refine them with the same precision used when refining fine diamonds. Each stone is hand cut and hand polished to produce a dazzling luster. Mass produced stones are instead machine cut, compromising the beauty of the stone.
Setting
Finally, the setting in which the best CZ is placed put our jewelry in class all by itself. At Birkat Elyon each of our stones is set in 14k gold, 14k white gold or platinum, ensuring that they will stand the test of time.
