And why wouldn\u2019t we? After all, who doesn\u2019t love hearing all about celebs\u2019 incredible rings, proposals and weddings? We certainly do!<\/p>\n<p>But what about their on-screen personas? More actors and actresses than we can possibly count have played characters who got engaged in some simply incredible ways \u2013 we\u2019re talking about engagements so perfect and\/or so over the top that only Hollywood could script and create them. They may not be real, but they\u2019re really fun to dream about. So let\u2019s dream a little and remember six of the best movie proposals ever!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Wedding Singer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l1A_X8VMIqU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with something a little silly, but also still pretty sweet. Adam Sandler movies these days may not be what they used to be, but there\u2019s no question that the funnyman used to be really, well, <em>funny<\/em>. In 1998, he and Drew Barrymore starred in the classic goofball comedy <em>The Wedding Singer<\/em>, in which Sandler played Robbie Hart, the titular singer, and eventually got engaged to Barrymore\u2019s character, Julia. Robbie is a born romantic and, with a little help from Billy Idol and one of his fans, knocks Julia\u2019s jerk of a fianc\u00e9 out of the picture and sings her a song he wrote as they\u2019re flying to Vegas.\u00a0 It all ends with Robbie getting down on one knee and Julia saying \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Walk the Line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/vimeo.com\/37558398<\/p>\n<p><em>Walk the Line<\/em> chronicles country music legend Johnny Cash\u2019s rise to fame, with Joaquin Phoenix starring as Cash and Reese Witherspoon as his love interest, June Carter. As the two are performing on stage, Johnny puts June on the spot, tells her his feelings for her and asks her to marry him. After she accepts, the audience cheers. Talk about a proposal to remember!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ever After <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sHsA_lVrrDc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the classic fairytale <em>Cinderella<\/em>,<em> Ever After: A Cinderella Story <\/em>is set in 16<sup>th<\/sup>-century France and subtracts all the supernatural\/magical elements of the fairytale in a supposed bid to tell the \u201creal\u201d story of Cinderella. It\u2019s also another Drew Barrymore movie, with Prince Henry (Dougray Scott) eventually apologizing to Barrymore\u2019s Danielle for being kind of an ignoramus and proposing by placing the fabled glass slipper on her foot. She starts crying and falls into his arms. The two kiss and end up living happily ever after.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When Harry Met Sally<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rNsu6CeTKpc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Famous for one of the most well-known one-liners in cinema history \u2013 \u201cI\u2019ll have what she\u2019s having\u201d \u2013 <em>When Harry Met Sally<\/em> chronicles the amazing 12-year journey of Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) as their lives continually cross paths through chance encounters. The two attempt to prove that a man and a woman can be \u201cjust friends\u201d but eventually realize they love each other. Sally is skeptical of Harry\u2019s true feelings at first, but she\u2019s won over when he delivers this perfect line: \u201cWhen you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Runaway Bride<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iZLnEfsXttE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>What would this list be without at least one appearance by Richard Gere and Julia Roberts? In this 1999 rom-com, Maggie (Roberts) plays a young woman who\u2019s been through a number of relationships that have ended poorly. She\u2019s even left three men waiting for her at the altar and become famous in the tabloids as the eponymous \u201cRunaway Bride.\u201d She leaves a fourth at the altar for Ike (Gere), but again gets cold feet before the two are themselves set to marry. Eventually, she reunites with him, and <em>she <\/em>proposes. This time she actually makes it to the altar and seals the deal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sex and the City<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Va4gTqyLJeQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It was probably inevitable that Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and the gang from HBO\u2019s <em>Sex and the City<\/em> TV show eventually get their own film, and, sure enough, they did four years after the show \u2013 known for its frank discussions on sexuality and romance \u2013 went off the air. In the movie, Carrie gets engaged to longtime love interest \u201cBig\u201d after the two plan to move in together, but she fears that, if things end badly, she won\u2019t have any right to the penthouse because they wouldn\u2019t have been married.
