Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves<\/strong><\/p>\n Matthew McConaughey proposed to Camila Alves, who was already the mother of his children at the time, on Christmas Day by incorporating it into a family tradition. His family opens one gift box at a time, so he put her ring in a box, and then another box\u2026and then several more boxes. Camila had to open eight different boxes one at a time and wait for everyone else to take their turn opening a gift each time. Finally, she got to the one with the ring in it, and McConaughey asked for her hand.<\/p>\n Carey Hart and Pink<\/strong><\/p>\n Who says women can\u2019t propose? Well, whoever it was certainly wasn\u2019t Pink \u2013 the pop singer took matters into her own hands and in 2005 proposed to motocross champion Carey Hart. When Pink showed up at that year\u2019s Pro 250 class motorcycle finals at Mammoth, CA she, did so with the intent of being more than just a spectator.<\/p>\n As Hart came around on his third lap, Pink stood to the side of the track holding a sign that read \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d As he passed her again on the next lap, he saw the second sign that she knew she\u2019d need: \u201cI\u2019m serious!\u201d Those in attendance say Hart stopped his bike in a hurry and ran over to embrace his new fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n Jordan Bratman and Christina Aguilera<\/strong><\/p>\n Of course, most pop stars probably prefer doing things a little bit more \u201cthe old fashioned way.\u201d So it was with Christina Aguilera. Music executive Jordan Bratman proposed to her in a hotel room full of rose petals and gift boxes. Inside each box was a present and a self-penned poem. When she opened the last box and saw the five-carat ring inside, she looked at Bratman, who bent a knee and asked the question.<\/p>\n Seal and Heidi Klum<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, their marriage didn\u2019t last, but that doesn\u2019t mean the proposal isn\u2019t worth remembering. That\u2019s Nick Cannon\u2019s seeming mantra, as back in 2008 when The Empire State Building was lit up pink and lavender for the release of Carey\u2019s latest album he took her to the roof of her Manhattan apartment and proposed. Carey, feeling a bit shy, didn\u2019t know how to handle it. But Canon wasn\u2019t giving up so easily. \u201cHe sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride. Actor Charlie Sheen and real estate investor Brooke Mueller jetted down to Costa Rica for what Mueller thought was just a fun trip \u2013 but Sheen had something else in mind. He gave her a Patek Philippe Calatrava watch from Robert Maron, Inc. The engraving read, \u201cB\u2014Wanna Get Married? Love C.\u201d He didn\u2019t stop there, of course, as Sheen also gave her a natural yellow 11-carat diamond set in platinum.<\/p>\n Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka<\/strong><\/p>\n TV and movie star Neil Patrick Harris \u2013 or NPH, if you prefer \u2013 was taken completely by surprise when David Burtka proposed to him back in 2007. The couple was on their way to an event when Burtka made the limo driver stop for reasons that really weren\u2019t clear to Harris. \u201cI thought he wanted to get some booze or something,\u201d Harris recounted to Out<\/em> magazine. \u201cAnd then he got on one knee and proposed, and I was so freaked out by it that I said, \u201cYes,\u201d but I didn\u2019t know what it meant. Then I got the ring and loved it, and a year later, on Valentine\u2019s Day, I proposed to him in Santa Monica.\u201d<\/p>\n
