Titanic\u2019s Heart of the Ocean Necklace<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Titanic may have been a horrifying disaster, but at least it brought Rose and Jack together \u2013 well, in the movie, anyways. So powerful were Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslett\u2019s performances as Jack and Rose, respectively, that many still can\u2019t help but think of the two in that role, even all these years and many prominent film roles later.<\/p>\n

In the film, Rose wears the unforgettable Heart of the Ocean necklace, which was made by Asprey & Garrad from, you guessed it, blue cubic zirconia set in white gold. Real-life Titanic survivor Kate Phillips received the necklace that the movie version is based off from a married lover who met the same unfortunate end Jack did in the movie.<\/p>\n

The Lord of the Rings\u2019 Evenstar Brooch<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most important piece of jewelry in Peter Jackson\u2019s film version of J. R. R. Tolkien\u2019s famous fantasy novels might be the titular One Ring to Rule Them All. But, it was another far more enchanting piece that caught our eyes. Like any good story, The Lord of the Rings<\/em>\u2019 plot features a great romance. Live Tyler\u2019s Arwen falls for Viggo Mortensen\u2019s Aragorn, and he for her.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s just one problem: Arwen is an immortal elf, and Aragorn is a mortal human. The two love each other too much to let little details like that get in the way, however, and Arwen gives Aragorn the Evenstar as a symbol of her love for him.\u00a0 The brilliantly shining necklace is symbolic of Arwen\u2019s being the most beautiful of the High Elves left on Middle-Earth. In the movie, the brooch has an organic art nouveau style to it and hangs on a silver chain.<\/p>\n

Moulin Rouge\u2019s Diamond Necklace<\/strong><\/p>\n

Satine (Nicole Kidman) is a gorgeous courtesan who attracts the attention of the wealthy but controlling Duke Monroth (Richard Roxburgh) in 2001\u2019s Moulin Rouge<\/em>.\u00a0 She accepts an incredible necklace from Monroth, but it ends up becoming a symbolic collar, as he becomes extremely possessive of Satine.<\/p>\n

The necklace has the distinction of being the most costly piece of jewelry ever created for a movie. It has 1,300 diamonds and weighs in at a staggering 134 carats. Based on the garland necklaces that were popular during the late Victorian period, the piece was made by Stefano Canturi.<\/p>\n

Pretty Woman\u2019s Ruby Necklace<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mercy! Wow! Oh, oh, pretty woman\u2026sorry, we got a little carried away there in the moment. Speaking of moments, one of the most well-loved and remembered moments in Pretty Woman<\/em> was completely improvised. Richard Gere\u2019s character spends most of the movie applying a believable enough of a veneer to lady of the night Vivian (Julia Roberts) to make her into a respectable member of high society. Part of that included Gere snapping shut the velvet box in which a beautiful ruby necklace was contained just as Roberts moved to touch it. The moment wasn\u2019t in the script, and it caught Roberts off-guard, causing her to display genuine surprise on camera.<\/p>\n

My Girl\u2019s Mood Ring<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you grew up in the \u201890s you probably got caught up in the \u201cmood-sensing\u201d ring craze at some point or another. My Girl<\/em> is at least partially responsible for mood rings being so popular throughout the decade. The titular girl, Vada (Anna Chlumsky), loses her mood ring in the woods while playing with her best friend Thomas (Macaulay Culkin). The pair are forced to give up their search for the ring when a swarm of bees show up.<\/p>\n

Later, despite being allergic to bees, Thomas returns by himself. He finds the ring, but is fatally stung by the bees. It might just be a child\u2019s trinket that can\u2019t hold up to the beauty of the other items on this list, but My Girl<\/em>\u2019s mood ring makes its way on here because of its symbolic value of how much Thomas cared for Vada.<\/p>\n
